• Rockstar's Research: Behind the Clubs and Helipads of Max Payne 3

Before Max heads in to the under belly of Sao Paulo Brazil, the developers at Rockstar Games had to do some leg work to make it as much of a realistic experience for us as possible. They took a tour of Sao Paulo not by car, but by helicopter and were able to get a better grasp of how many people in Sao Paulo had helipads due to the traffic congestion on the ground. This was going to be a integral part of Max Payne 3 as it's an important part of the real Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Be sure and check these photos and more in HD in our Max Payne 3 Image Gallery!

Their research didn't only lead them to the air, but they were also there to check out the posh night clubs that Rodrigo Branco's wife would eventually visit. The devs were able to get a feel for what the atmosphere was like by being there in person, something that photos just can't do. From what we've seen in most of the videos and images, we've seen the gritty side of Sao Paulo, the photos above give us a completely different aspect of where the big money is at in the city.

Very informative research and impressive pics from the fictional version of the Sao Paulo skyline. Can't wait to jump right into this Run'n'Gun masterpiece in May

Sao Paulo looks so much different from what I was imagining. This is shaping up to be one cool game. It looks like we'll have some seriously city life, with interesting architecture and totally unique environments to play in.

I hope you realize the fictional version of São Paulo skyline is that nighttime shot with the helicopter on it.

The day shot from above is São Paulo´s real skyline.

      The city is actually huge.

Here another photo of São Paulo´s skyline
